Last Week’s Highlights
Google Maps Out COVID-19
In a recent update, Google Maps became the next major website to provide important information about COVID-19 and its spread. The new color-coded overlay focuses on infections within the last week for every 100,000 people. The idea with this update appears to be to provide users with more, easier access to information, which would ultimately be used to make decisions about health and safety.
A Surprising North Korean Apology

Coming Up This Week
A Second Wave Hits Europe
The UK and France are among the countries in Europe to be hit hard by the region’s new COVID-19 wave. Joining these countries at the top of the charts are Russia, Spain, and Italy. Europe’s wave pattern has shown infections on a serious rise since the end of August, surpassing that of April’s first wave. This information is concerning, because it also points to the possibility that the death toll later on could also surpass the first wave’s.
China Continues to Erase its Muslim Legacy
Many Muslim Chinese people of the Xianjing region have been persecuted, especially as of late, by the Beijing government. Mass destruction of holy sites, communities, and the movement of muslims to detention centers are just some of the atrocities currently happening. These centers are designed for “reeducation” and likely do not meet the basic needs of those detained.
