Last Week’s Highlights

Myanmar’s Military Coup Continues Its Reign

In Myanmar, a tight hold on power remains gripped by the military after ripping it from the beloved former democratic leader Aung San Suu Kyi. Since February, hundreds of victims have died in protest against the regime. Now, CNN reporters share their view from the inside, as the military grants specific access to the country.

Russia Setting Its Sights on Ukraine

Once again, Russia appears to be looking toward the former Soviet country of Ukraine. With startling numbers of troops and military equipment arriving near the border between the two countries, NATO officials appear to be concerned over Russia’s intentions. On top of this news, there also appears to be a similar situation happening in Russian arctic areas, caught on satellite images.

Coming Up This Week

Second Wave of COVID-19 Crushing India

Last week, India saw a day with over 103,000 reported cases of the coronavirus. Over 12 million people have officially been known to have come down with COVID-19 since last March 2020. Among the bad news the South Asian giant is experiencing, is a new strain that appears to be growing in frequency, with understandings of its consequences relatively unknown.

US Vaccination Campaigns Up and Running

While a vaccination campaign of the magnitude necessary to eliminate COVID-19 is unprecedented, countries like the US are making it happen. As of the first few days of April, all states in the union have announced plans to allow those 16 years and older to sign up and make appointments to receive vaccinations. However, it isn’t necessarily that simple. Residents will need to keep a few things in mind in order to access their vaccines.

More Things to Sip On…

Despite questions of the validity of rapid tests for COVID-19, the UK will offer two free ones every week.

Is there such a thing as “clean energy” Bitcoins? There is indeed.

Will the European Union manage to get back on track with vaccinations?
